The Walt Disney Company and TikTok announced on 5 August a global deal that will bring an expansive collection of fan-created content from TikTok to the Disney+ app, with a pilot launching in the US in the coming months before expanding to other markets.
Short-form videos from participating creators who opt into the programme will live on both TikTok and in Verts on Disney+, featuring characters and stories from Disney's brands including Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and FX.
TikTok will offer creators access to assets related to hundreds of films and series from Disney's library. Disney introduced Verts in the US in March 2026 as a mobile-first feed of vertical videos designed to help subscribers browse clips and find longer programmes to watch without leaving Disney+.
Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company, said: "The best storytellers are fans first. That has always been true at Disney, and today, fans are celebrating our stories in entirely new ways. This collaboration creates a new bridge between the stories we tell and the creativity they inspire."
Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment at TikTok, said: "Creators are at the heart of everything we do at TikTok. Their creativity extends the life of films and shows into conversations that fans discover and share. Together with Disney, we're bringing the authentic creator expression of the TikTok community to Disney+."
Through the jointly-run Disney Creator Ambassador Program, Disney and TikTok will enable creators to unlock special rewards and provide them with increased visibility, access to exclusive events and career development pathways. The tiered programme reflects Disney's commitment to building relationships with the next generation of creative talent in partnership with TikTok.
According to internal TikTok data, fans shared an average of 6.5 million film and TV-related posts on TikTok each day last year. An Ipsos study commissioned by TikTok across seven markets in mid-2025 found that nearly half of surveyed viewers aged 18 to 49 said they subsequently watched a film or series after encountering entertainment content on the platform.
The programme does not publicly offer financial compensation, and no revenue-sharing mechanism has been disclosed. No financial terms for the overall deal have been announced.
