Blue Note Jazz Club will open its first UK location in London's West End on 23 September, the venue confirmed on Tuesday.
Located on St Martin's Lane in Covent Garden, the venue received its licence in May 2025. The main room holds 250 people and will host two shows each night, at 7pm and 9.30pm. A second 100-capacity space, B-Side, will open later in 2026 with a focus on emerging British talent.
Five-time Grammy-winning pianist Robert Glasper will headline the grand opening on 23 and 24 September, returning for a further seven shows in November. Glasper has also been named as the venue's creative ambassador.
"Starting this new club is about creating a space where jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and everything in between can meet, evolve, and surprise people," Glasper said. "I'm excited to build something in London that feels intimate, fearless, and alive, a place where artists can take chances and audiences can experience the music up close."
The first season will also feature performances from Erykah Badu, Nubya Garcia, Yussef Dayes, KOKOROKO, Hak Baker and Jamie Cullum.
The opening date falls on what would have been the 100th birthday of saxophonist John Coltrane. The New York club was founded in Greenwich Village in 1981 and has since opened locations in Tokyo, Milan, Los Angeles, São Paulo and Shanghai.

Our hope is that Blue Note London becomes more than a venue, it becomes a home for musicians, a gathering place for the community, and an integral part of London's cultural landscape."
Nick Lewis, director of music and programming at Blue Note London, said the venue would welcome "some of the greatest jazz artists worldwide whilst shining a light on our exceptional emerging homegrown UK jazz scene, which has been on fire in recent years".
The venue, designed by Legeard Studio, will be open until 1am Monday to Saturday and until midnight on Sundays. It will serve dinner throughout the week alongside a bar and cocktail menu.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am on 14 August, with Blue Note Membership presale opening at 10am on 12 August and venue presale beginning at 10am on 13 August.
