Jamie T has confirmed a surprise secret set at Reading Festival, opening the main stage at noon today, following a social media campaign that referenced his new single '3310'.
The indie artist posted a video on social media on Thursday asking organisers if they would consider adding him to the line-up at the last minute. "I'll play any time, any stage, all I need is 33 minutes and 10 seconds," he said in the clip.
The request for a 33 minute and 10 second slot is a nod to his new Nokia phone tribute single '3310', which was released earlier this month as the first taster of his new album, 'Ghosts (100 Days of Morning)', which drops on October 9 via Polydor Records.
He will not be making an appearance at Leeds Festival.
Royal Blood have also been announced for a secret set at Reading, taking to The Gallery stage at 2pm. The Brighton rock duo's set comes fresh from them announcing their fifth album 'Dead Company' with the comeback single 'Ten Over Ten'.
"The set planned for Reading is pretty brutal," frontman Mike Kerr told NME. "It's only 45 minutes long so that allows us to play all the heavier songs that we have. The theme of the show is to make it as relentless as possible."
Royal Blood have a history with Reading and Leeds, making their first appearance as a new band in 2014. "The first time we played Reading was pretty mental," Kerr recalled. "If my memory is correct it was when we had 'Out Of The Black' and 'Figure It Out' on the radio."
This year's festival has a line-up headlined by Charli XCX, Florence + The Machine, Fontaines D.C., Dave, RAYE and Chase & Status, with other acts including Skepta, Sombr, Role Model, JADE, Kneecap, Geese, Skye Newman, Holly Humberstone, Gurriers, Westside Cowboy, Declan McKenna, Maisie Peters, Paris Paloma, Overpass and Duke Dumont.
The festival opened on Thursday with Kasabian headlining in Leeds.
