Amazon Music has announced a new episode of its docu-performance series Songline featuring Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, recorded at Church Studios in North London.
The episode finds Abrams revisiting songs from her album Daughter from Hell through intimate performances and candid conversations with longtime collaborator Aaron Dessner. The album, released 17 July 2026, debuted at No 1 on the Billboard 200 and topped charts in the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland, and New Zealand.
An Amazon Music-exclusive album featuring Abrams' reimagined Songline performances will be released on 28 August, while the full docu-performance film premieres on 10 September.
"Songline gave me the chance to sit with these songs in a completely different way," said Abrams. "When you strip everything back, you remember why you wrote them in the first place. It was really just me and my band in a room together, letting the songs breathe."
Songline is Amazon Music's docu-performance series that provides an intimate look into an artist's songwriting process and the stories behind the music. Each performance is intercut with interviews, giving songwriters the opportunity to outline their process. The series premiered with Billie Eilish and Finneas breaking down tracks from Hit Me Hard and Soft, with subsequent episodes featuring artists including Mumford & Sons, Ed Sheeran, and A$AP Rocky.
Aaron Dessner, who has written and produced alongside Abrams since 2020, said: "It's incredibly real and vulnerable and authentic. There's nothing contrived about it. It's the humanity in her writing. She gives voice to things. It's very cathartic for people to listen to, and I think it's why she's connected so much with her fans, because it's so personal and so intimate."
Abrams co-produced and co-wrote Daughter from Hell with Dessner. The album earned the fifth largest debut for a female artist and sixth largest pop debut in 2026. Abrams will support the album with The Look at My Life Tour, a 64-date tour beginning 2 December in Denver and continuing through Europe in 2027.
