New Young Pony Club Take Ctrl

NYPCWe first reported on the Topman Ctrl project last year, and since then have been inundated with reports of all the hot new talent taking part, and their successful months in Ctrl of the Topman Ctrl Myspace. I think it’s safe to say this project is going down a storm, and no doubt this month won’t be any different, as New Young Pony Club take the helm from Filthy Dukes. Users of the Topman Ctrl Myspace page should keep their eyes and ears open for exclusive content from the band, who have been busy preparing all sorts of videos, photos, and interviews for their month in Ctrl.

New Young Pony Club are not exactly new to the music scene, in fact many of you may remember their 2007 album, ‘Fantastic Playroom’, which was nominated for a Mercury Music Prize, but they have been away for a while. Their month with Topman Ctrl couldn’t have come at a better time then, for a band who are celebrating a fresh new sound, direction, and a musical comeback of sorts. Aside from taking over the Topman Ctrl Myspace, the group will also be performing at their special Topman Ctrl gig in Sheffield on February 25th. This gig will take place at Bungalows and Bears, and will also feature a line-up of support acts, handpicked by New Young Pony Club. Their inspirations, influences, and top tips for musical success were all combined, and the resulting line up is: The Invisible (also nominated for the Mercury Music Prize), The Laurel Collective (art rockers), Run Hide Survive (DJ Duo), and Children For Breakfast DJ Duo.

Tickets for this gig are on sale now at a budget busting £3 from www.seetickets.com or Bungalows and Bears, The Old Fire Station, Division Street Sheffield.
