It has been announced that the majorly popular boyband Westlife will split up after they have completed their 2012 tour. The boyband has become one of the most popular in the UK and they are loved by many households across the country. Westlife will split up after being together for over fourteen years and in this time they have achieved great musical success.

Made up of four Irish men the band has become one of the most successful of all times and they have revealed that they will break up after their forthcoming tour. It has also been revealed that the next greatest hits album that is due for release will be their final one.

The band will say goodbye to their fans on their tour next may which has been named Greatest Hits Tour, this has already sold. Westlife band members Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan have sold over 44 million records during their time together.

In a statement the band thanked their fans and stated they had had a brilliant career; it was described as a dream come true for the band members.

In an official statement the band stated that they planned to go their separate ways after their greatest hits collection is released at Christmas and after they have completed their farewell tour in 2012.

The band have stated that they will have a long well earned break and that they will all focus on new ventures. It has been revealed that the decision to split up is totally amicable and that all band members remain exceptionally close.

It has been stated that the album and the tour will act as a final goodbye and thank you to their loyal fan base. The final tour of the band will see their fourteen number one hits being showcased. Most of the band members plan to stay active in the music business, either through solo work, record writing or record production.
