Next Week @ Ministry Of Sound

Ministry of Sound has been a famous name in the London club scene for many years, and has seen some of the hottest promoters, DJ’s, and live acts through its doors. On the 30th of May, it will continue this tradition with the arrival of New York Club Night Shelter, which has chosen to celebrate its 18th Birthday here in England.

Shelter rose to the forefront of the New York Club Scene when the city said goodbye to super club, Paradise Garage. Filling the gap nicely Shelter is going strong, and all ready to celebrate its birthday in style on May 30th.

Appearing on the night, will be three formidable names in the house/soul/motown scene, who all have very impressive c.v’s! First up, is Shelter’s founder Timmy Regisford, who is well known for building up the deep house/soul genre in the clubs. We can’t resist a little name drop too, as Timmy has worked with legends Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder, and Mary J Blige to name just three. He will be swiftly followed by Quentin Harris. Quentin is best known as a DJ, and former trumpeter for Aretha Franklin, though Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, and REM have also made use of his production and musical skills. His appearance at Shelter is a rare event, as he will be there to sing Shelter’s very own hit song, Cloud 9, alongside soul singer Ronnie. The night will end with Jazzie B lining up all the best house tunes on the decks.

All in all it should be an unforgettable night, just like an 18th birthday should be! To find out more about Club Shelter or any of the acts appearing, just click on the following links:
