A Taste Of America Comes To Essex Next Week

shakey1In the last few years, Essex promoter Shakey has become a well known figure on the Essex music scene, supporting local/national talent, and bringing his eclectic mix of indie, rock, acoustic, folk, and blues, to venues throughout Chelmsford. But it’s not just the UK music scene that has attracted his attention, but the American one too, and this has seen him bring over some special guests from across the pond to perform at his nights.

Next week, Thursday 20th will see an Anglo-American flavour hit Barhouse, where Shakey now has a Thursday night residency, with special guests P.A.U.L from Detroit topping the bill. P.A.U.L, or the Paul Andrew Ulysses Lamb band will be bringing their own unique blend of blues/rock to the stage, and after checking them out on myspace, I’d say they will end the night in style. Their music is a mix of full on riff laden rock, soulful grooves, and a few ballads thrown in for good measure. They will be supported on the night by alternative rock act Stealing Signs, and experimental/ grunge outfit From The Bassment, both from Essex, and Norfolk based Kunk.

If you’re over 18, and fancy popping down, then the gig will start at 7.45pm, running until 12.15am. Entry will be £3 all night, with DJ’s playing in between the acts. Barhouse is located near the train station in Chelmsford, Essex. For further details on the venue, and how you can watch a live webstream of their gigs, please visit www.barhouse.net.
