If you’re looking for some female fronted hard rock this summer, then maybe Stark will be the band for you! Bassist and singer Lani Ford formed the band in 2003 after playing in various bands and spending some time in the open mic scene. The band started off as a singing-songwriting combination of indie, rock and blues, though with a few line-up changes, the band also added influences ranging from ACDC and glam metal, Blondie, Thunders, and The Ramones to their mix.

Fast forward to the present day, via a few CD releases, gigging, and radio airplay, and the turbo charged band now comprises Lani Ford on bass and vocals, Eric Robel on Drums, and Joe Hogan on guitar/backing vocals, plus sound engineering duties. In March 2010 they released a new EP, ‘Race To The Floor’, and that’s exactly what a lot of you hard rock fans may well be doing, when the band hit the UK for the 3rd time for several gigs.

On June 26th Lani will take the band to St Annes Castle, Great Leighs in Essex, with a gig lined up at the Hope and Anchor in London on June 27th, and a return to Barhouse in Chelmsford for July 1st, where Stark will join Moscow based band Blast, and The Milk on the line-up.
