The Sony Radio Academy award nominations have been revealed and numerous first time nominees have been named. The awards are recognised as being highly prestigious within the radio industry.

Michael Buble has received a nomination for his music show which is aired on Magic 105.4. Buble will face tough competition as he is up against popular Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton; this is the first time that Cotton has been nominated for the awards.

Chris Evans has also been nominated for an award for his breakfast show; he will face the 5 Live entrant which previously won the award last year.

The winners of the Sony Radio Academy awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on 14th May in London.

Numerous other popular BBC Radio DJs have received nominations for the awards. For many UK music experts this proves that the industry is till growing and that the radio usage in the UK remains to be strong.

Whilst in recent times it had been though that the UK music industry may be in decline, it would appear that it is still growing.
