Ronnie Scotts Celebrates The Best Of British Jazz

Ronnie Scott’s is quite simply an iconic music venue, and has had an important part to play in the history of Jazz music in this country. From the very beginning (thanks in part to a ban on overseas musicians), it has been a keen supporter of British Jazz music, and will soon be celebrating this with an all British Summer Jazz Festival.

This event will take place at the London venue from August 1-15th and feature a dazzling array of home grown talent. Star names like Courtney Pine and Julian Joseph are lined up to appear alongside acts like Polar Bear and Get The Blessing. The aim is to give people an insight into the diverse British Jazz Scene, and they will do this by showcasing an amazing 100 musicians during the course of the festival. Each night will have a double bill of Jazz talent, and there’ll be other activities to enjoy at the venue too, such as workshops, a quiz show with a celebrity panel, and a photography competition. Not only that, there’s a year’s membership to the Jazz Club could be won, if you can work out the connection between all the acts playing at the festival. What a way to celebrate you’re 50th birthday, and you could be there.
