Rod Stewart has announced that he will be embracing Christmas through releasing a charity single, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. The song will be taken from his festive album Merry Christmas Baby. The single and album will be released on 9th December.

The proceeds from the single will be split between two different charities that have been chosen by the artist. The two charities selected are Teenage Cancer Trust and Celtic Charity Fund.

Rod has revealed that he lives a blessed and wonderful life, due to this he wants to give something back to the world in which he works. It is hoped that a great amount of money will be raised for the charities.

Last weekend Rod Stewart performed live on X Factor alongside the current competitors. This was a surprise performance and the crowd reacted exceedingly well to the performance.

It is also expected that Rod will announce a tour for June 2013, this is expected to be a major sellout event.
