Rihanna is currently in a tie with Madonna for the most UK number one albums ever; it is likely that in the coming years that Rihanna will take this title. This week Rihanna has sold almost 100,000 copies of her album Unapologetic; this has taken the number one spot in the UK album charts.

The compilation cd, Now 83 has become the highest selling UK album of 2012 after it sold 295,000 copies since its release.

Olly Murs has knocked Girls Aloud from the number one spot with his single Troublemaker, this also features the popular artist Flo Rida.

After Rihanna achieved the number one sport with her album the artist came to hold a record of holding three consecutive number ones; this record is also held by Madonna, Norah Jones and Eva Cassidy. Rihanna has previously had number ones with Good Girl Gone Bad, Rated R, Loud, Talk That Talk and now Unapologetic.

Popular artist Rihanna continues to dominate the UK singles chart with her songs Diamonds, Right Now, Half of Me and Nobody’s Business.

One Direction now stand at the number spot in the album charts with their recent release and Little Mix are at number three with their album DNA.
