Ricky Wilson Announced As New Voice Coach

Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson has been announced as the fourth coach on television series The Voice.

The singer shot to fame with the Kaiser Chiefs, who are well known for their singles ‘Na Na Na Na Na’, ‘Ruby’ and ‘I Predict a Riot.’

Ricky Wilson will be replace singer Jessie J as the fourth coach on the BBC singing show.

The announcement comes just days after Kylie Minogue was revealed as the replacement for The Script frontman, Danny O’Donoghue, who also will not be returning for the third series.

Speaking about joining The Voice, Ricky Wilson has said: “Who doesn’t want to spend their Saturday nights with Kylie Minogue.

“I spent last winter yelling at The Voice, and both Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am we’re total superstars.

“I’m just lucky the Kaiser Chiefs have rubber stamped my temporary loan.”

Ricky Wilson is one of three new musical stars to be joining The Voice following a change in line up for its third series. JLS star Marvin Humes will be making the move from singer and v neck t shirts, to presenting the series with fellow new host, Emma Willis.

Unlike the X Factor, the blind auditions mean the ‘coaches’ base their decision on the ‘voice’ of the singer. Such as the name suggests! There are no age categories and instead the auditionee will then choose who they want to coach them for the remainder of the series.

Whether or not the additions of new singers / famous faces will help save the ratings of the talent show remains to be seen. However no doubt it will breathe a fresh lease of a life into a series that so far hasn’t reached the double figure ratings.

The Voice UK will be returning to screens in January 2014.
