The pop sensation Adele has recently broken yet another record, her success within the music industry continues to grow. The singer is currently enjoying success not just in the UK but all over the world, she is currently attempting to crack the US.

Her latest record is that she has become the first artist to have a song which has sold more than one million copies this decade within the UK. The popular song Someone Like You has been purchased in different forms over one million times within the country, the song is also very popular within other countries.

The record has been confirmed by the company which compiles the weekly charts within the UK, The Official Charts Company. The song Someone Like You was written about an ex-boyfriend, as were the other songs on her latest album 21. This song spent four weeks at number one in February, it also returned to number one in March for one week. This is now the biggest selling single of the decade and this is likely to be a record which will not be beaten for some time.

In 2009 two other songs sold more than one million copies, these were Poker Face by Lady Gaga and I Gotta Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. Adele is understood to be absolutely fantastic achievement and her popularity continues to grow.

It is expected that Adele may break another record in the very near future, her latest album 21 has sold over 2.6 million copies and it has also spent sixteen weeks at number one in The Official UK Chart. Her first album which she released, 19, has also doubled the amount of sales it has made with 800,000 copies being sold this year.

The singer has been heavily praised by the music industry after she brought a different kind of music to the charts. Her music appeals to a massive amount of people and the lyrics do all of the talking. Adele has quickly become one of the most popular music stars within the UK and all over the world. It is expected that she will release a new album in the coming years, although she is keen to ensure that the lyrics are true to herself just like her other albums.
