Radio 1 Big Weekend Line-Up Announced

The acts for this years Radio 1 Big Weekend have been announced.

The line-up was revealed in stages live on air this morning by breakfast host Nick Grimshaw. The acts were also revealed on the official Big Weekend website.

This years event will be held in Derry / Londonderry and is one of the Big Weekends strongest line-ups.

Starting on May 24th, the Friday will feature headline acts such as Calvin Harris, Chase and Status, Dizzie Rascal and Rudimental on the main stage. On the 1 XTRA / In New Music We Trust Stage Rita Ora, Katy B and Wiley were be among some of the acts performing on the stage.

On Saturday May 25th one of the biggest acts to take to the main stage will be Biffy Clyro, who have recently their sixth studio albumĀ Opposites.

The Scottish rock band will be joined by: The Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club, Labrinth, Foals, Ellie Goulding and Conor Maynard. The day will be opened up with a performance by The Saturdays.

On the 1 XTRA / In New Music We Trust Stage, performers include Frightened Rabbit, alt-J, DJ Fresh and Bring Me The Horizon.

The Big Weekend comes to a close on May 27th will be headlined by Bruno Mars.

The main stage will also feature performances from 30 Seconds to Mars, Paramore, Olly Murs, The Script and Jake Bugg.

Vampire Weekend, Bastille, Miles Kane and We Are The Ocean are just some of the acts who will take to the 1 XTRA / In New Music We Trust Stage.
