Purely, Simply, Festival News!

I walked into Debenhams yesterday, and everybody stared. I was covered in snow, and yes I was cold too, but now I’m sitting here in the warm, thinking of spring, summer, and sunshine, which can mean only one thing! Gig news!

First up today I’ve just had confirmed, the first festival appearance of the year for Chelmsford based band Seven Summers. I recently saw these guys at their album launch gig, and they were awe inspiring, so I would urge you all to check them out when they play the SX Festival on May 15th. This family friendly festival takes place on May 15th and 16th in Rochford, Essex, and along with Seven Summers, will feature a whole host of bands, singers, and DJ’s spanning many different genres. So expect Drum N Bass, Hip Hop, Indie, Rock, Pop, and R&B acts to perform, alongside comedy, theatre, dance, and a whole field packed full of children’s entertainment.

Tickets go on sale March 1st 2010. More information, location, and line-up details at www.sxfestival.co.uk

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, and you want to take a trip up North for your festival fun, then maybe The Bearded Theory is the event for you. This event is held from the 14th-16th May at Bradley Nook Farm in Derbyshire. News has just reached us that The Wonder Stuff have been announced for the main stage on the 14th May. Hailing from the West Midlands, this act first found a fanbase in the late 80’s, with chart success following in the early 90’s, and now it seems a reformation, and festival appearance beckon. They will join the likes of Dodgy, Dreadzone, The King Blues, Eskimo Fires, and Doctor and The Medics on the line-up. The festival also includes a children’s village, busking stops, real ale bars, craft area, and a huge firework finale. If you’d like your festival experience to go with a bang, tickets for this event are available now from www.beardedtheory.co.uk.
