My hometown of Chelmsford hosts one of the biggest music festivals in the UK, theV Festival, though to be honest I can’t help feeling a tiny bit jealous of some of the other towns and cities in the UK, and their festival line-ups, because there is one thing we just don’t do on a large scale anymore and that’s POP! This is not the case on the Isle of Man however, who are putting plans into action for a three day pop extravaganza this June, and what treats they have in store!
The three day event runs from 18th-20th June, called The Isle Of Man Bay Festival and it promises to deliver some of some the best pop acts of moment, a full on nostalgia trip, and a hefty dose of dance, and reality TV too. On the first night of the festival, the excellent (and rather good looking) JLS boys will take to the stage, alongside The Saturdays, and Lemar, who is currently promoting a Greatest Hits Album. They will be swiftly followed on the Saturday by a real mixed bag of talent: 80’s legends Spandau Ballet will be joined by Calvin Harris, The Feeling, DJ Ironik, The Coronas, and Britain’s Got Talent stars, Diversity. Then there will be double the fun on the Sunday, with two shows packed full of fun tunes for you to sing along too. From 2pm that day there will be an XFactor/Britain’s Got Talent mash-up featuring performances from Olly Murs, Signature, Ruth Lorenzo, and Signature. Then from 8pm it’s time to take a trip back to the 80’s with the popular ‘Here and Now’ show. The Bay Festival show will feature sets from Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle, Boy George, Kim Wilde, Cutting Crew, The Real Thing, and Curiosity Killed The Cat.
So much pop crammed into three days of fun, you’d be mad to miss it! This is a three day camping festival, and tickets are on sale now, so if the details above have tickled your fancy, then carry on reading for the info you’ll need.
