Plan B takes Novello Awards

The popular newcomer Plan B continues to dominate the UK music market with his different releases of music which prove popular with a wide audience. The artist is well respected within the music market with many industry experts tipping him for good things. Many may recognise the star from numerous films that he was involved in before starting his music career, these include Kidulthood and Adulthood.

Plan B, his real name Ben Drew, has achieved numerous fantastic things since starting out as a music star. These achievements include dominating the Ivor Novello awards that were recently held. The artist took home three awards which included the highly recognised award for Songwriter of the Year, along with the album award for Defamation of Strickland Banks and the award for most performed song She Said.

On receiving the awards Ben Drew gave numerous emotional speeches which many of the crowd commented on being very moving. He commented on the fact he had made songs in his bedroom within his East London flat whilst some of his friends were being enticed by heroin and being thrown out of tower blocks. The artist said he wanted to sing about these kids and provide a reminder of the kids that were forgotten by many.

Drew who was awarded his album honors from the music great Sir Elton John stated that his next album would return to his hip hop roots. He said that he hoped his fans would receive this work just as much as they appreciate the rest. Ben Drew who will now be highly recognised throughout the music industry for his fantastic achievements paid recognition to many artists that had influenced his work that he had created. Numerous members of the audience stated that Drew was more than a worthy winner.

Tinie Tempah, whos real name is Patrick Okogwu was also honoured at the ceremony and received the award for the best contemporary song for Pass Out. This song was co-written by Tempah, Labrinth, real name Timothy McKenzie and Marc Williams.

Another well known artist to be highly recognised at the awards was Dizzee Rascal. Despite not releasing any music recently the artist continues to be highly recognised within the UK music scene.
