Olympic Stadium to host Festivals

It has been revealed that the Olympic Stadium based in East London will play host to the Wireless Festival and Hard Rock Calling during 2014.

Hundreds of thousands of fans will descend on the stadium this summer as it holds its first events since the end of the Olympics.

Previously the two events have been held in Hyde Park but organisers were forced to relocate due to the number of residents complaining about noise levels and visitor nuisance.

The two events will now be held in the Olympic Stadium in July of this year, this will celebrate the first anniversary of the British Olympics. Names who will perform at the events include Beyonce and The Rolling Stones.

The events are being organised by Live Nation and it is believed that a large amount of the Olympic Stadium and surrounding areas will be used to host the events.

There is currently a transformation programme on going which will see the Olympic Park being transformed, this commenced at the end of the Games and it is expected to cost around £292 million.

Both of the summer events are likely to be sell outs before the full line ups are even announced.
