Music Stars to be awarded Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef Awards

This years award ceremony for the Nordoff Robbins o2 Silver Clef Awards will be held in London and numerous music stars will be recognised. Those that will receive awards include Biffy Clyro, Tinie Tempah and Liza Minnelli.

The annual ceremony will take place at the Park Lane Hitlon in London on July 1st. The ceremony will make up part of a fundraising dinner that is being held in order to raise money for the music therapy charity. This charity uses musical treats in order to help people who suffer from a range of different conditions.

Numerous different music artists will be awarded at the event, for example Biffy Clyro will be recognised and provided with the title of Royal Albert Hall Best British Band. The UK sensation Tinie Tempah will also be recognised and is set to be named TAG Design and Interactive Best British Newcomer.

The legendary band Status Quo are also to be recognises at the ceremony, they will receive the title of the Sony Ericsson Lifetime Achievement Award. Other artists include Alfie Boe receiving the PPL Classical Award and Radio 1 DJ Annie Lennox will receive the o2 Silver Clef Award.

Liza Minnelli is set to be the most recognised artist at the awards ceremony. She will receive the highly prestigious Investec Icon Award. She has stated that she is incredibly honored to be receiving this award and that the charity does fantastic work for many people throughout the country.

The artist is expected to return to the UK this summer in order to release tour dates. She has not toured within the UK since 2008 but is now anticipated to release the dates for this year in order to perform her new album Confessions.

Nordoff Robbins have stated that providing Liza Minnelli with the award was an easy choice due to the pure determination and cutting edge productions that she brings to the music industry.
