The sale of music within the UK has been higher for the first four weeks in 2013 than for the same period during 2012. The sales data released today by the Official Charts Company suggested that it is likely to be a strong performing year for the UK music industry.
The Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA) has also recently released figures for the trading of music within the UK. The recently released figures suggest that the sale of music in the UK is up on last year by around 11.6%; this is the best performing year for the music industry in three years.
Overall 2012 was classified as being a tough year for music sales within the UK, the sales overall were down by 5.5% compared with the previous year.
