X Factor winners Little Mix have taken the number one spot, following in the usual tradition of the X Factor taking the Christmas number one. It has become a somewhat given fact that the winner of the X Factor will take this number one spot.

Only once in the last six years has this not happened, this was mainly due to an internet campaign which saw Rage Against the Machine taking the top spot. In 2009 it was X Factor winner Joe McElderry that missed out as a result of this.

Whilst Little Mix have taken the number one spot the odds are stacked against them for staying there. The bookies are taking 12-1 bets that the band won’t be at number one on Christmas day. Instead a one hundred strong choir is being tipped to take the number one spot.

Whilst Little Mix have now obtained their first number one spot the jury is now out in relation to what will happen to the band.

Very few artists that win the X Factor competition actually produce a successful career and therefore it will be interesting to see how the band do.
