Mencap, the charity that raises funds and awareness for those with learning disabilities, is back in London with its acclaimed music nights, the ‘Mencap Little Noise Sessions’. Each night will take place at the Union Chapel in Islington, and will offer music fans the chance to see a first class line-up of entertainment perform intimate, raw, and ultimately unique gigs, to raise funds for the charity.
The nights will be presented by Mencap Ambassador and Radio DJ Jo Whiley, and will feature a host of popular stars and some new talent as well. Chart topping acts to feature in the line-up include indie band Scouting For Girls, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, and dance sensations Alphabeat. Joining them on the eclectic line-up are Newton Faulkner, Editors, Mika, Lost Prophets, Paloma Faith, and Florence and The Machine. In amongst these established acts, there’s a delightful supporting cast, which includes alternative band Stornoway, singer-songwriter Daisy Dares You, Aussie star Lisa Mitchell, and the lively Egyptian Hip Hop. If all that didn’t sound impressive enough, we’ve heard rumours that these nights are famed for the appearance of unannounced special guests, so if you attend one, you’re sure to have an exciting night out, and raise money for a great cause!
