London 2012 Closing Ceremony

An emotional goodbye was to said the London 2012 Olympics last night; the end of the two weeks of sport was celebrated in true British style. A musical sensation was laid on for the 80,000 people in the stadium and the millions of people watching across the world.

The production was created in order to signify Britain and to celebrate UK music; it did exactly that.

Emeli Sande opened the ceremony and received exceptionally well by the crowds who were watching, the artist had previously played a major role in the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

Popular acts who followed Emeli Sand included The Pet Shop Boys, Suggs, One Direction and Ray Davies. Some of the greatest British songs of all times were played out loud to the capacity crowd. Music which featured throughout the ceremony included Queen, The Beatles and David Bowie.

British fashion models Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell made an appearance at the event whilst George Michael, Kaiser Chiefs, Annie Lennox and Ed Sheeran performed.

Some of the current hottest UK music stars were next to perform at the event, these included Jessie J, Tinie Tempah and Taio Cruz.

One of the biggest performances of the night and no doubt the performance that people will be talking about for weeks to come was the display from the Spice Girls. Mel B, Victoria Beckham, Geri, Mel C and Emma joined together in order to display some of their classic hits.

Liam Gallagher and his new band Beady Eye performed with one of the classic Oasis songs and this was also well received.

Take That and The Who closed the ceremony, it will be remembered by millions as being a fantastic closing event and a world class Olympic Games.
