You might be forgiven for thinking it’s all been a bit quiet on the Lee Mead front, since he released his superb second album, ‘Nothing Else Matters’ in March 2009, and aside from the odd charity concert and TV appearance, you’d pretty much be right.  All that is about to change in 2010 however, as Lee Mead has evidently decided, there’s ‘no rest for the wicked’.

Lee is currently on a UK tour with the Oscar Wilde play, Lord Arthur Saviles Crime, which will finish on April 24th. Not content with this, and the eminent arrival of his first child, with wife Denise Van Outen however, he has also announced further theatre dates and a few concerts too.

Lee Mead fans have been booking tickets for Wicked, the smash hit West End Musical which has announced an extended run, and a new cast. Lee will join the cast on May 10th 2010, taking on the part of Fiyero, while fellow reality TV contestant Rachel Tucker will also join the cast. The show is booking tickets until the end of April 2011, with Lee appearing in the show until at least Feb. Visit See Tickets or Ticket Master for ticketing details and prices, or the official Wicked website at www.wickedthemusical.co.uk. The show takes place at the Apollo Victoria Theatre in London.

In between his fatherly duties, and West End performances, Lee will also find time to take to the stage for some concerts. These dates will be his first solo headline gigs, and so far include dates in Basingstoke and his home town of Southend. The dates are Sunday 23rd May at The Cliffs Pavilion, Southend (www.thecliffspavilion.co.uk), and Sunday 13th June in Basingstoke. (http://www.anvilarts.co.uk)

Although due to a management change, Lee’s official website is a bit out of date at the moment, you can find lots of news, pictures, and Lee Mead info at www.lee-mead.co.uk.
