2010 dawned crisp and cold, and with it, came a pretty amazing start to the year for Essex singer-songwriter Leddra Chapman. Not only did the singer appear on This Morning, and BBC Radio 2 (who also play listed her single for 8 weeks), but she confirmed a new tour with an artist called Hamel. Then came February, and while Leddra was crisscrossing the country performing, and taking part in radio promotion, she managed to hit the headlines, of MSN Celebrity News no less!
The popular news service reported that much loved TV presenters Ant and Dec were in the crowd at The Jazz Café in London, when Leddra was performing there as part of HMV’s Next Big Thing Festival. The Britain’s Got Talent presenters took time out from filming auditions for the show to attend the event, which also attracted the likes of Hot Fuzz actor Simon Pegg. Leddra performed tracks from her debut album, Telling Tales, which if rumours are to be believed, went down well with the TV duo. They were heard commenting after the gig that “Leddra sounded and looked great. She’s a really talented songwriter and the crowd loved her.”
Leddra is currently preparing for the CD release of ‘Telling Tales’, and her forthcoming single ‘A Little Easier’. For more news and gig dates visit www.myspace.com/leddrachapman.
