JLS and Amy Winehouse Top Charts

Popular boy band JLS have gained another number one selling single with their song She Makes Me Wanna. This is now the boy band fourth number one single, showing that their popularity continues to grow at a good pace. Band member Aston showed his confidence of the band being awarded the number one before it was announced by having a tattoo to celebrate the single at number one. The artist has a tattoo for each number one which the band have achieved. JLS have just completed a major tour and are now working on new material that will feature on their new album.

At number two behind JLS is an artist who has also made her name with the help of the television series the X Factor. Cher Lloyds is in the number two spot with her first ever single Swagger Jagger. A contemporary song which has received mixed reviews it had been expected to beat the JLS boys to number one. Lloyd has managed to build up a very good fan base despite the fact that she has numerous people within the industry who dislike her music. When on the television show Cheryl Cole was her mentor and was very fond of the young artist.

Also in the top singles this week are songs from The Wanted, DJ Fresh, Ed Sheeran and Beyonce.

It may be a shock to some music fans but the death of Amy Winehouse has seen sales of her music increase in rapid numbers. There is always a rise in sales when an artist dies, take for example the phenomenal increase when Michael Jackson sadly died.

The songs of Winehouse have raised so many sales in the days since her death that she now holds the number on position with her album Back to Black. Despite having a controversial lifestyle and having annoyed many of her fans with her poor dedication it appears that many will now miss Winehouse within the industry.

Music industry experts are widely tipping that Winehouse will remain at number one in the album charts for many weeks.
