Jamie Cullum Added To Hyde Park Line-Up

Jazz singer Jamie Cullum has been added to the line-up for this years BBC Radio 2 Live In Hyde Park concert.

The singer will join Jack Johnson and Simple Minds who were revealed yesterday morning.

Band Texas have have also been added to the bill.

The announcement that Cullum and Texas would be joining the bill was revealed this morning by Zoe Ball, who is currently standing in for Chris Evans on the Radio 2 Breakfast Show.

Listeners will also hear the announcement of a new Hyde Park act everyday as the radio DJ will be revealing a new act at 8:15am this week.

Now in its sixth year, the event will take place on September 8.

Jason Carter, Head of Live Music and Events for Popular Music, said: “This year’s Radio 2 show in Hyde Park is going to bigger and better than ever before, with a fantastic line-up of UK and international artists on the main stage,  as well as the addition of a new second stage showcasing brand new talent. It’ll be one of this summer’s best music events!”

Last year almost 30,000 fans attended the Hyde Park event which was headlined by Status Quo, Jessie J and Tom Jones.

It has been announced by organisers that this year the event will feature two stages including one dedicated to new acts’; the BBC Introducing Stage.

Coverage of BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park will be available to watch via the Red Button and the station will also air highlights of the event throughout September.
