According to recent weather reports we have cause to be optimistic this summer, so why go abroad, when you can pack your shades and suntan lotion and head down to Brighton for a great 3 days of live music.
This is the fourth year of the event, and it’s all set to be the best yet, with 34 venues and 300 bands performing from the 14th-16th May. As with most festivals, there will be a mix of big name acts, and new grass roots music encompassing rock, indie acoustic, folk, pop, electro and country music. The festival has built up a reputation for attracting acts from all over the U.K and abroad, and this year will build on that further, with bands coming from France, America, Canada, and New Zealand, taking the stage alongside home grown talent. Among the long list of acts appearing at the event are Kasabian, The Charlatans, British Sea Power, Esser, Evan Dando, Johnny Flynn, Fight Like Apes and Kissy Sell Out.
Some venues will host daytime and evening performances, while others will just rock on through the night with stages hosted by a variety of sponsors including Virgin, Gaymers Cider, Artrocker, Red Stripe, and Club NME. Also new this year, is an exclusive artist’s village which will host live performances, workshops, and networking events. There are some ticket types still available so head on over to www.escapegreat.com for more information and full line-up details.
