Cheryl Cole has revealed that Girls Aloud will call it a day on the band after their 10th anniversary tour and after they have released a greatest hits album. In their day the band was regarded as one of the biggest girl bands of all times.

Cheryl, who is regarded by many people as being the biggest success who has emerged from the Girls Aloud band, leaked the information about the band in her newly released autobiography. The book, Cheryl: My Story, reveals numerous different stories about the band in her book.

In the book Cheryl has written that the tour and album will be the last hurrah for the band.

Cheryl commented, “we’ll be working on a tour and greatest hits album. Then I think that’s it for Girls Aloud. We’ve achieved more than any of us ever dared to dream of”.

The Girls Aloud website was re-launched last week ahead of a ten day countdown which will see a special announcement being made by the band. It is expected that the announcement will be that the band are releasing a new single.

Earlier in 2012 the band had been working on new material with production team Xenomania.

Rumours suggest that the band have already been lined up to play at he Royal Variety at the Royal Albert Hall on November 19th.
