The 2011 UK Festival Awards winners have been announced and numerous major names and artists were recently awarded. Those who were recognised at the awards include Paolo Nutini, Ed Sheeran and Glastonbury. The awards continue to recognise the fantastic work that artists and festival organisers complete in order put these magnificent events on.
The awards ceremony was hosted by The Cuban Brothers and at the show there was sixteen trophies that were hand out. At the awards ceremony there was exclusive performances put on by Trevor Lock, Luke Benson and a closing set was completed by John Cooper Clarke.
There was only one double winner at the awards ceremony and these were given to the Derbyshire’s Y-Not Festival. The awards given to the festival were for The Grass Roots Festival and Best Toilets. These awards attempt to reach out to different areas showing that it is not only the music that is important to those whom attend festivals.
The folk music and dance promoter Steve Heap was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This was presented to Steve for his dedication to the festival industry.
