Emile Sande’s debut album ‘Our Version Of Events’ has reached 2 million album sales in the United Kingdom.
The singer’s album went on to beat the record set by The Beatles, when her album spent a total of 66 consecutive weeks in the Top 10.
‘Our Version Of Events’ was also named the best-selling album of 2012 in the UK, and remains the best-selling album so far in 2013.
Singles released off the album include ‘Clown’, ‘Read All About It’ and debut single, ‘Heaven’.
Previous female solo artists whose music has surpassed the 2 million album sales mark include Leona Lewis with her album ‘Spirit’ and also Amy Winehouse with ‘Back to Black’.
Work has already begun on Sandé’s follow-up album, with the singer admitting earlier this summer that she already has a number of songs written. The album is mooted for release at some point during next year.
