One Direction have come a very long way since rising to fame through the talent show the X Factor. Despite not winning the talent contest, the band have successfully become one of the biggest bands in the UK and they have now descended on a US tour.

Made up of young lads the band has been an instant hit with many young girls across the UK and the rest of the world. Speaking about the band a person close to the music industry has stated that they are popular because they offer something different.

The five man band continues to grow in popularity and one of the youngsters, Harry, has now been promoted to the lead singer position for the US tour.

One Direction are currently the supporting band for Big Time Rush and reports suggest the band has been just as popular in the US as they are in the UK.

Management of the band are apparently hopeful for One Direction and reports suggest that they will now expand into the US in the near future.
