Worried fans of One Direction have been inundating Twitter with comments after the young band was involved in a car accident. Three of the members of the band required medical treatment for neck injuries after the accident.

The lads from the band, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, had just finished performing in the city of Birmingham before the accident.

The police and ambulance services were called out to the smash in the centre of Birmingham after a car hit the tour bus of the band.

Three of the band members complained of severe headaches and spinal pain but it has been confirmed that none of the injuries were serious.

On medical grounds the band had been advised to cancel their next tour gig in Plymouth but the boys did not want to disappoint fans and therefore did not.

Rumours spread about the crash and thousands of fans were worried that the band may have been seriously injured.

This was a very bad experience for the boys in the band but their management have now confirmed that they are back to normal and focusing on the tour in hand.

The sell out tour continues to be a fantastic success.
