British DJ names World’s Most Influential DJ

It has been a very good day in the world of electronic music for the UK, an announcement has been made regarding who is the worlds most influential DJ. The legendary Techno DJ Carl Cox has seen off some of the biggest names in the world to be given the fantastic title of the world’s most influential DJ.

Carl Cox who has been a DJ for many years has seen off big names included Tiesto, Armin can Buuren and Pete Tong. The decision regarding who would be given the title was reached by conducting a survey of 2,000 festival-goers, clubbers and dance fans. The survey was organised and conducted by GlobalGathering.

Cox who is now aged forty eight has been popular within the electronic music scene for over three decades, he was awarded one fifth of the votes in the survey. Many younger DJs heap praise on Cox who offers massive support to youngsters and who is seen as a pioneer in electronic music, especially within the techno scene.

Popular club DJ Fedde Le Grand who has a very well known hit Put Your Hands Up for Detroit has stated that one of his biggest inspirations is Carl Cox. Le Grand describes Cox as an absolute legend and an awesome guy. Cox has played alongside Le Grand several times at the shows Carl Cox and Friends, with Le Grand stating that Cox is somebody who is still on top of his game. As well as being a popular DJ Carl Cox also has his own record label and is a very popular music producer.

Cox released his first album in 1996 names At The End of the Cliché, although his career started in the 80s as a hardcore and rave DJ. After the release of his first album Cox then played two Millennium New Year parties after flying between two different time zones, showing his dedication to his work.

Over the past thirty years Carl Cox has played all over the world and is still very influential throughout the electronic music scene. He has been the resident DJ at the Space nightclub in Ibiza for many years, with his night selling out on a regular basis.
