Music fans across the UK are preparing for the Brit Awards of 2013 and a full list of the nominations have recently been released. The artists with the most nominations include Emeli Sand and Mumford & Sons who have both received four nominations each.
The nominations for the Best Male Solo Artist are Ben Howard, Calvin Harris, Plan B, Richard Hawley and Olly Murs. Music critics are tipping Plan B and Calvin Harris to be the front runners for the award.
Nominations for the Best British Female Solo Artist include Amy Winehouse, Bat for Lashes, Jessie Ware, Paloma Faith and Emeli Sande. The late Amy Winehouse is expected to be honoured in some regards at the awards ceremony, whether this is through this award or another. Many music fans are suggesting that it will be Emeli Sande who takes away the award.
The Best British Breakthrough Act nominations are Alt-J, Ben Hoard, Jake Bugg, Jessie Ware and Rita Ora.
One Direction are the favourites to take away the Best British Group award but other nomination include Mumford & Sons, Muse, The XX and Alt-J.
There are many nominations for the best single of the year, the front runner at the moment appears to be Adele with Skyfall.
