The Brit Awards 2012 was hosted in London last night with all of the major names in the music industry attending. The music awards ceremony is renowned as the most popular in the UK and it was set up to recognise the talents of British music.

Adele was awarded with two of the awards, a great success after her recent domination of the Grammy awards. The star continues to be increasingly popular, although she was at the centre of controversy last night; her acceptance speech was cut short in order to allow Blur to perform. The artist was presented with the prize for best British album and best British female.

Ed Sheeran who has become an overnight success in the UK music industry as also presented with two awards for best British male and British breakthrough.

Coldplay, were presented with the prize for the best British group, this is the third time that the band have received this.

One Direction beat off competition to be awarded with the prize for best British single.

Whilst Adele has of late had major worldwide success she revealed that she is truly proud to be British and that she flies the British flag wherever she goes.
