BBC Proms Tickets

The BBC Proms is looking to be one of the most popular ever after the 85,000 tickets that were released sold out on the first day of sales. Within the first hour sales for the tickets reached 376 sales per minute. This is something of a record for the BBC Proms as in previous years the ticket sales have proven to be quite disappointing.

The world recognised concerts will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London between July 15th and September 10th. The sales of tickets were up 7% on the ticket sales last year. Many fans have expressed their delight at obtaining tickets and have stated they are very much looking forward to the experience.

The concerts will be broadcast across the world by the BBC, this is something of high importance for the world of music.

Some tickets were sold out within just several hours, these include the tickets for Gustavo Dudamel and the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra. These tickets were sold out within three hours.

The tickets for Havergal Brian’s gargantuan The Gothic Symphony also sold out within just a couple of hours. Some fans are believed to have been left disappointed as they failed to secure tickets to this concert. The organisers have stated that this is one of the most popular events although up to 1,400 further tickets will be released on the day of each concert, it is believed that these tickets will be priced at just £5 per person.

Some of the less popular concerts are still available and people are being encouraged to snap up these tickets and to experience the different musical performances on offer.

The director of the Proms, Roger Wright, has stated that The Proms continues to be the world’s largest music festival and that the demand for tickets on the first day reflects its popularity. He stated that the organisers are delighted that many have successfully obtained the tickets and that all those involved look forward to welcoming everybody to The Proms.

Last year was a record breaking year for the Proms after 313,000 people attended. On Saturday the ticket sales for the Proms reached 85,921.
