Adele Cancels Two Tour Dates

Thousands of fans have been left disappointed after the singing sensation Adele has been forced to cancel two shows of her UK tour. The artist who has become a major hit throughout the world due to her songs such as Chasing Pavements and Rolling in the Deep has cancelled the two shows due to illness. This is the first UK tour that Adele will complete and she has previously revealed that she is very nervous about the shows. The venues that have been affected by the cancellation are Bournemouth International Centre and the Plymouth Pavilions. A spokesperson stated that Adele had no other choice than to cancel the shows after she was struck down with a serious infection which affected her chest.

The shows will now be reorganised for the earliest possible date and tickets holders will still hold valid tickets. Those people who wish to claim a refund will be able to do so if they wish. Adele tweeted that she was ‘gutted’ that she had to cancel the shows but stated that she was given no choice; she apologised profoundly to her fans.

The singer will find out on Wednesday whether her number one selling album 21 will be awarded with a prestigious Mercury Music Prize. In order to get the prize the artist will have to see off artists including Katy B, Elbow, Tinie Tempah, James Blake and PJ Harvey. Adele has recently enjoyed numerous nominations for music awards including many nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards. Katy Perry was also popular at these awards and she received an outstanding nine nominations.

Adele has recently revealed that one of her biggest inspirations in the music business was the recently deceased Amy Winehouse. Popular artist Adele stated that she believed Winehouse had opened up the music industry to a wider pool and that not many people actually recognise how brilliant she was.

The tour that Adele has produced is being eagerly anticipated by many of her fans, tickets sold out at a record rate. The artist has recently revealed that she struggles incredibly with nerves performing to large crowds. For this reason it is believed that Adele will not perform at any festivals in the near future despite calls from many of her fans.
