Clara Amfo to present Christmas ‘Top Of The Pops’ after Reggie Yates quit

Radio 1 DJ Clara Amfo is set to present this year’s Christmas Top Of The Pops, after Reggie Yates quit from the role.

Last month, radio DJ and TV presenter Yates issued an apology following comments while appearing as a guest on the ‘Halfcast Podcast’.

Clara Amfo has been announced as his replacement, making her the first new presenter on the show in over a decade.

Amfo will co-host two one-hour Christmas and New Year editions of the iconic music show, alongside Fearne Cotton.

Mark Cooper, head of music television at BBC Studios, said: “Clara is a great champion of all kinds of pop music and she lights up the screen with her radiance. She’s a joy on Radio 1, she did a great job presenting on BBC TV at Glastonbury this year and now she’s co-hosting Top of the Pops! Clara and Fearne will be a formidable duo!”.
